Friday Finish

Friday Finish: News and notes on what is happening in the community.

New-mega-church:

A fast-growing Central Ohio church is proposing a new main campus in Orange Township.

The new main campus for Lifepoint Church would be built on the east side of Columbus Pike, near the Menards store and the Point Blank shooting range. The church bought the 14.6-acre parcel of land for $1 million, according to the Delaware County Auditor.

374 Lewis Center Rd:

The Courtyards at The Ravines will feature 55 beautifully designed ranch-style homes in a low-maintenance Epcon Community overlooking a scenic ravine in Lewis Center, Ohio.

A private retreat surrounded by modern conveniences, the community is within walking distance to the grocery store and shops, just minutes from US-23, less than a mile from restaurants, one mile from Shale Hollow Park, three miles from Alum Creek State Park, and a short distance to shopping at Polaris Fashion Place.

Santa is open for business:

Santa’s schedule is available with an online Fastpass.

Weekend plans:

Orange Township’s first craft brewery is ready to open its doors.  Olentangy River Brewing Co., which was announced in March, will open its new space at 303 Green Meadows Drive S. with a grand opening at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.

Thank you Veterans:

On Veteran’s Day, we celebrated and recognized the brave men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces.

Honor Flight Misson 93 – The Veteran’s Day Flight was completed last Sunday.  There are many opportunities to support Honor Flight but I highly recommend attending an Honor Flight welcome home ceremony at the John Glenn Airport.  It’s an experience for all ages that provides a great deal of perspective and appreciation for our Veterans.

The Mission of Honor Flight is to honor our nation’s senior veterans with a trip to Washington, D.C. to visit their war memorials at no cost to them.  Honor Flight Columbus and the Honor Flight Network has flown 5,221 veterans 2007-17. In 2018 the goal was to fly an additional 600 Veterans. Honor Flight Columbus is part of a nationwide network. Since its creation in 2005 the Honor Flight Network has flown over 200,000 veterans. Honor Flight is active in 47 states with 140 hubs.
